Placement included 2 hours a week of observation as well as tutoring to individuals and
small groups in the classroom.

Placement included 2 hours a week of observation as well as working with English language learners
and managing the class during different activities and transitions throughout the day.
Professional Experience:
2011-Present Tutor: Student-Athlete Support Services, East Lansing, MI
Tutor student athletes at Michigan State University in a wide range of college courses including
chemistry, physics, trigonometry, writing, integrated sciences, social science, and psychology.
Summer 2011 Study Abroad: Zonkizizwe, South Africa
Participated in a study abroad to learn about the current race relations of the country as well as to
better understand the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Worked at an orphan care center and established a
community garden and compost project.

Participated in an urban fellowship program teaching summer school to high school students to
increase awareness and understanding of issues facing teachers in an urban context. Observed and
taught summer school classes in high school integrated science and biology.
2009-2010 Resident Mentor: Residence Life, Michigan State University
Assist students with their transition to college, connect residents with on campus resources, plan
programming and learning initiatives throughout Case Hall, initiate community building, enforce
university policies, and teach students about community responsibility.
